WongaWits Season 2: Pune Students Showcase Stock Market Prowess

Pune: After electrifying audiences in Hyderabad and Delhi WongaWits Season 2, YES SECURITIES’ flagship intercollegiate finance and stock market quiz, took place at the Kale Hall, Gokhale Institute of Politics and Economics (GIPE), Pune a city renowned as India’s and home to some of the country’s most storied academic institutions.

The Pune edition witnessed a tremendous response, with over 200 student registrations and 100 spirited teams competing across multiple quiz rounds that tested both the core principles of finance and the real-world dynamics of the stock market. Students from over 12 colleges across Pune participated, representing a diverse mix of academic backgrounds and financial curiosity.

The competition was fierce yet filled with camaraderie, as participants showcased quick thinking, analytical prowess, and teamwork at every stage. The atmosphere was charged with enthusiasm — with cheers echoing from peers and faculty, transforming Kale Hall into a true arena of intellect and energy.

Adding a dose of entertainment to the day, RJ Addy from Big FM kept the excitement alive through engaging interactions, witty quips, and spontaneous audience games. His lively presence brought a fun twist to the intense quiz rounds, making the event both educational and entertaining.

Founded in 1930, GIPE stands tall as one of India’s oldest institutions dedicated to economics and social sciences, contributing significantly to research, policy, and academia. Its rich legacy, coupled with Pune’s vibrant educational ecosystem, made it the perfect backdrop for this celebration of financial knowledge and youth engagement.

After a series of gripping and fast-paced rounds, the top honours went to:

1st Abasaheb Garware College

2nd Armed Forces Medical College

3rd Vishwakarma Institute of Technology

WongaWits Season 2 continues to be more than just a competition – it’s a nationwide movement to make finance accessible, exciting, and empowering for India’s youth. With a 12-city tour underway, the Pune chapter reaffirmed the growing enthusiasm among students to understand and engage with the world of finance.

The winners from Pune now move forward to the Grand Finale in Mumbai on 19th December 2025, where champions from across India will battle for the ultimate WongaWits crown and a chance to be recognised among the nation’s brightest young financial minds.
