Mumbai: Vijaybhoomi University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Apollo Healthcare Academy to collaboratively offer Bachelor’s programs in Allied Health Sciences, marking a significant step toward addressing the growing shortage of skilled allied healthcare professionals in India and globally.
The strategic partnership brings together Vijaybhoomi University’s modern academic ecosystem with Apollo Healthcare Academy’s deep clinical expertise to deliver undergraduate programs that combine academic rigor with immersive hospital-based training. The programs will focus on high-demand specializations such as Anesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Critical Care Technology, and other allied health disciplines that are critical to today’s healthcare systems.
Designed in line with the guidelines of the National Commission for Allied & Healthcare Professionals (NCAHP), the curriculum ensures regulatory compliance, national credibility, and global relevance. Students will benefit from structured clinical rotations at Apollo Hospitals and affiliated healthcare facilities, including a comprehensive final-year internship aimed at preparing them for real-world clinical environments.
Healthcare systems worldwide, including insights from the World Health Organization (WHO), continue to highlight an acute and growing shortage of allied health professionals. This gap is expected to widen further with aging populations and rising healthcare demand. The Vijaybhoomi–Apollo collaboration directly addresses this challenge by preparing graduates who are skilled, confident, and ready to contribute from the first day of their professional careers.
Commenting on the partnership, Sivaramakrishnan Venkateswaran, CEO, Apollo Knowledge, said, “Apollo Healthcare Academy is committed to bridging the gap between classroom learning and hospital practice. This partnership will empower students with the confidence, exposure, and skillset required to thrive not only in India but also in global opportunities. It is part of our global workforce development initiatives to build and empower the next generation of healthcare professionals equipped to contribute meaningfully to health systems worldwide.”
The allied health programs will feature an industry-relevant curriculum co-developed by academic experts and hospital clinicians in alignment with NCAHP standards. Students will learn under experienced faculty from both Vijaybhoomi University and Apollo Healthcare Academy, supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure including modern laboratories, classrooms, and digital learning systems.
The programs also include structured clinical training through hospital rotations, a mandatory final-year internship, global readiness modules such as bridge programs, language training, and licensing support, as well as placement assistance through Apollo Hospitals and partner healthcare networks. Opportunities for applied research with faculty from both institutions further enrich the learning experience.
With this MoU, Apollo Healthcare Academy and Vijaybhoomi University reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening allied health education and addressing the global healthcare workforce shortage. Together, they aim to build a sustainable pipeline of highly skilled allied health professionals ready to shape the future of healthcare in India and across international markets.
