Bengaluru: In the government schools of Anekal, a town within the Bengaluru Urban district, classrooms are buzzing with dreams bigger than their walls. Several philanthropic foundations, CSR leaders, educators, policymakers, nonprofits, researchers, and government functionaries came together on September 25, 2025, to reimagine what education for students in schools of Anekal could look like by 2030.
Biocon Foundation, the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) arm of Biocon Group in collaboration with Involve Learning Solutions Foundation, organized Anekal Education Summit 2025: Vision 2030, at Biocon Park, Bengaluru. By convening diverse stakeholders under one roof, the summit created a platform where ideas turned into commitments, and isolated efforts began to align into a collective mission for change.
This day-long summit is the beginning of a collective journey to transform Anekal into a model education block for the Karnataka state, by 2030. Samyak Jain, Co-founder, Involve Learning Solutions Foundation said, “Achieving a vision of an excellent education for every child is a highly complex problem, thus requiring more than just a single stakeholder to come together. It requires collective action with a clear overarching vision and a strong belief about keeping students at the center of decision making. We believe that the Anekal Education Summit will be the space that catalyzes this ecosystem.”
The panel discussions explored the themes of ‘Collective Actions for a Model Block’ and ‘Innovations,’ highlighting collaborative strategies and forward-thinking approaches. It presented creative solutions to everyday learning challenges, from building confidence in first-generation learners to strengthening the critical transition from primary to middle school. An Innovation Spotlight session featured select stakeholders presenting their efforts to improve education in the Anekal region, accompanied by a Poster Walkthrough showcasing impactful grassroots initiatives.
The summit was more than an event, it was an opportunity to call for more partnerships to transform Anekal’s education ecosystem. G. Gurumurthy, Block Education Officer, Anekal Taluk, said “To transform Anekal Taluk into a Model Block by 2030, we must strengthen our schools by improving infrastructure, expanding facilities, and addressing the shortage of teachers. Equal focus needs to be given to computer education, moral education, and sports. Several NGOs are already partnering with us, and we welcome more organizations to join hands in helping us realize the vision of making Anekal a Model Block by 2030.”
These sessions highlighted the collective commitment to strengthen the local Anekal community while also building visibility for its work among diverse stakeholders, thereby amplifying trust, recognition, and influence. The summit served as a launchpad for Anekal’s journey to become a model education block by 2030, moving from isolated successes to collective impact.
Biocon Foundation has been investing in strengthening government schools through infrastructure support, teacher training, community engagement, setting up smart classrooms, fostering curiosity through hands-on science learning, and encouraging young minds through science fairs and quizzes. The Foundation also promotes health awareness and facilitates regular health check-ups, creating a holistic environment for learning and growth.
Biocon Foundation has collaborated for Education Summit as it sees this as a natural extension of its work in the area of education. It believes that education transformation needs diverse stakeholders’ participation and alignment with the shared vision.
With Anekal as the starting point, the hope is to design and demonstrate scalable solutions that can inspire similar transformations across India’s education landscape.
